How the dates are worked out

    backwards, then forwards

    Backwards from publish

The planner finds the latest day each draft can start so feedback, revisions, approval and delivery all finish before the publish moment, with your revision buffer held back.

    Late dates push, never squeeze

Enter the day feedback really arrives. Every later stage moves later and keeps its full length, and the project is flagged if delivery lands after publishing.

    Locks hold

Lock a date the client confirmed in writing. It stays put while everything around it moves, and a conflict shows if earlier work cannot reach it.

What to put in for each project

    • Publish date and time. Use the client's clock and pick their time zone, so a Friday 09:00 sale in another zone lands on the right day for you.
    • Deliverables and hours. The count and your hours for each one give the draft its weight on your calendar.
    • Production days. Working days you need for the draft, not the days you hope to have.
    • Client review, in working days. How long they take to answer. Use what this client really does, not what the brief promises.
    • Revision rounds. Zero is allowed: the draft then goes straight to approval.
    • Dates settled early. Agree usage windows before the draft, with usage rights explained, and fill in the holiday brief template so nobody learns the publish time from the schedule.

    Quick answers

    How are working days counted?

Saturdays and Sundays are skipped for client review, and for your own work unless you tick the weekend box. Add holidays and days off as nonworking dates and both sides skip them too.

What happens when feedback is late?

Type the day it actually arrives into that stage's date field. Every later stage moves later and keeps its full length. If delivery lands after the publish moment, the project is flagged as missing publish, with the working days it is late by.

Can I keep a date fixed?

Tick Lock on a stage and it stays on that date while everything around it moves. If earlier work cannot reach the locked date, the stage shows a lock conflict and later stages follow the earliest real finish.

    Where do my projects go?

Project details stay on this page and in this browser, so they are still here tomorrow. Clear everything removes them. Export the run sheet, the CSV or the calendar file when you need a copy.
