Pitch brands in Q4 with a plan.

Q4 content has a deadline built in: it has to be filmed before the day it is about. Here is a seven-step pitching plan and a calendar you fill in yourself.

Seven steps

in the order to do them

  • Shortlist products you would genuinely film. Pick brands whose products you can show in use. Real use shows up on camera.
  • Find the right inbox. Look for a partnerships, marketing or social contact on the brand's own site and profiles.
  • Tie the pitch to a date. Name the day your video would be ready and the day it needs to be live.
  • Send the cold pitch with one concept. One product, one setting, one hook, and your portfolio link.
  • Follow up once, with a hook. After [x] days, send a single hook idea instead of just asking if they saw your note.
  • State your cut-off. Tell brands the last date you can take holiday work so a yes comes with a clear timeline.
  • Send the thank-you and next-round note. After delivery, offer more variations and say when you have availability.

Quick answers

When should I start pitching for Q4?

As early as your own schedule allows, because holiday content has to be delivered before the date it is about. Work backwards from that date and write it into every pitch.

How many brands should I pitch?

Choose a number you can follow up on properly. A short list with a specific concept for each brand is easier to send and easier to answer than a long list of copy-pasted notes.

What if a brand does not reply?

Send one follow-up after [x] days with a single hook idea for their product, then move on. The kit has a follow-up template ready to fill in.
